HEAT® presents awards based on population:

  • 100,001 – 500,000
  • 50,000 – 100,000

NOMINATION PROCESS

Please submit the following information with your nomination to the HEAT® Director by September 1:

  • Investigative effort and case impact.
  • Number of recoveries, dollar value of recoveries, and number of suspects arrested.
  • Explain the tie-in to other cases and crimes, if applicable, and its impact on local vehicle theft problems.
  • Investigations, arrests, and warrants issued are based on auto theft activity that occurred during the twelve month period prior to July 1st of the current year.

During July, HEAT® sends letters to law enforcement agencies throughout the state to request nominees for the award. However, HEAT® accepts other nominations as well.

Gasper Fiore doesn't seek attention for his efforts. He assists law enforcement efforts in the way in which his company handles impounded vehicles, many times at the expense of profit. He has educated his employees to be the "eyes and ears" of law enforcement when they are in the field, and he has provided both staff support and the use of his peroperties to the HEAT program for media opportunities and other filming, including the roll call video. His generosity and willingness to help are greatly appreciated.
