HEAT®'s 14th Anniversary

Miller, Hill, Napoleon and Granholm -
an All-Star line up at HEAT® Anniversary Breakfast

The Help Eliminate Auto Thefts (HEAT®) program celebrated its 14th anniversary on October 19, 1999 at the Crowne Plaza Pontchartrain Hotel. But it wasn’t your typical birthday party. The soiree included winners of the "Investigators of the Year" Award, the debut of HEAT’s new public service announcement with Detroit Piston Grant Hill and Detroit Police Chief Benny Napoleon and featured speaker Atty. Gen. Jennifer M. Granholm. A couple hundred people turned out to help HEAT’s new Director Terri Miller recap and salute the program’s 14 years of success. GO HEAT®!

Liddane children

The children of William Liddane accepted the first William Liddane Award given posthumously to their father. Margaret Rose – who sketched the initial artwork on this plaque – is joined here by brothers Michael and Matthew Liddane. This original award will hang in the offices of the Michigan Automobile Insurance Placement Facility.
